Community Partners
MacMedia collaborates and partners with organizations when both
entities can better achieve their goals by working together. These
win-win relationships make each organization and the community stronger.
MacWIA partnership
This partnership between Michigan Works!, the Ottawa County Workforce
Development Board, Kandu and MacMedia provides youth with a twelve-week,
hands-on learning experience. Youth gain individual career development
insights; basic technology skills which support television production
and editing; and collaboration and problem-solving skills.
"This collaborative partnership brought benefit to the community
as our youth gained understanding of the special needs of diverse
groups". "Youth participants actually requested modification of
the project so that the production could be adapted to address the
needs of a broader viewing audience. The students essentially became
advocates for racial diversity in their community. They also became
knowledgeable about the range of services in the community and developed
relationships with community partners to deliver a comprehensive
message to viewers of MacMedia." -- Erin Kauth, Program Supervisor,
Michigan Works!
